When elders, ascetics, hermits and wise people of the Church teach they don't simply say one thing or another, but may repeatedly use some characteristic phrases. A phrase, though short, still says a lot, and is like a position. Keep this phrase in mind. You will need this position. It resembles a landing where you can comfortably sit to rest after you've climbed up a staircase. But this landing, this position doesn't just provide a resting place. It is a position you may constantly reconsider, a position which will enable you to see things in life from a different perspective and move on.
A phrase like this is often enough for the soul to awaken. And it may make you work more deeply on your communion with God, which is a constant, on going experience".
The collection and publication of these short texts began in this spirit, as described by the words of our spiritual father, the late Father Symeon.
The warm response of the readers to our first attempt -Spiritual Messages of 2014 up to date, in Greek- encouraged us to prepare a series of texts in 2017 in English, taken from the rich teachings of the late Father Symeon.
